ISAAC McGINN - Computer Science Period 5 [Brooks]

My project was conceived with the intention of creating some sort of Alice-In-Wonderland-like, surreal animation. But this had no purpose.
So I decided to utilize the desire to make something surreal to create an animation that actually had a point. What resulted was an anti-Drug animation, a concept imagined after the project had been undertaken, one that demonstrated the holding power of any substance used in excess and the plummet from the top that follows when nothing is left. Lucy, a happy, black-and-white-striped orange fish with bright red lips, is the main character of the animation. Her story is explained in a section on the Interface page and is demonstrated visually by the animation itself.

Some things to pay attention to, though they may be hard to see are the turtle shapes. All of the shapes except for the flowers and the water drops are custom made shapes, designed or drawn by me. I tried to get as intricate as possible with shapes like the fish, even going so far as to put thinner white stripes on the black stripes and eyelashes and lips on the fish's face. Lucy grows as she contacts flowers, though the growth is slight so also not so noticeable. Once she becomes crazed, Lucy also has larger, blood-shot eyes with heavy eyelids and her once happy mouth has now disappeared. The clouds and diamonds were also made by me, the diamonds having a semi-3D look and the clouds looking as fluffy as can be.

In this animation, titled "The Girl with Kaleidoscope Eyes", there are no syntax errors. There are also no runtime errors (as far as I know). Although I encountered some along the way (that had to do with asking patches to change color when clouds reached a certain color themselves) I managed to get rid of them. The only problem with my animation is that there is so much going on that it doesnt run as smoothly as intended. With many turtles on screen at the same time, each doing a different thing, the program tends to become choppy: the color changes of the diamonds aren't as smooth, nor is the movement of the diamonds, the rain lags slightly making movement awkward during the storm. Other than this, my program is error-free.
